China Doctors’ Day | A Greeting Letter from Dai Jingjie, President of Dalian Jinshitan Hospital, to All Medical Staff of the Hospital

Dear Physicians, August brings forth the fragrance of ripe fruits and brimming vitality. We are celebrating the fourth “Chinese Doctors’ Day.” On this special occasion, on behalf of the hospital’s Board of Directors, I would like to extend our warmest greetings and profound respect to all physicians in our hospital! With approval from the State Council, August 19 has been designated as “Chinese Doctors’ Day” since 2018. This year’s theme for Doctors’ Day is “Together Building Dreams on the Centennial Anniversary—Physicians Fulfilling Their Original Aspirations with Responsibility.” Coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, we celebrate our own festival—a testament to the Party and the state’s deep care, concern, and support for medical personnel. It highlights the professional honor and charm of those in white coats and embodies the profound value of physicians’ lives. The people come first; life comes first. We have chosen a sacred vocation, shouldering a noble mission and persevering through thick and thin. At the forefront of saving lives and alleviating suffering, we selflessly dedicate ourselves and work tirelessly, fully showcasing the admirable image of modern-day angels in white. Through concrete actions, we embody the lofty spirit of health care: "revering life, rescuing the dying and healing the wounded, willingly dedicating ourselves, and extending boundless love." Staying true to our original aspirations and keeping our mission firmly in mind, we will further strengthen medical ethics and conduct, continuously enhance our professional competence, convey the warmth of health guardians with genuine care, write the loyalty of white-clad warriors with every drop of sweat, shoulder hope with skillful hands, and earn the future with sincere dedication. In our ordinary yet busy posts, we strive to be physicians who are filled with compassion, imbued with warmth, and committed to taking responsibility. As one physician put it: Treating illness and saving lives has never been merely a technical endeavor—it is steeped in humanistic spirit. It’s the encouragement and trust conveyed during pre-operative consultations, the lingering concern for patients on the way home, and the smile that lights up weary faces after a successful surgery. “Medicine is the study of humanity; medicine needs warmth.” When we always place the interests of patients at the center, think about them wholeheartedly, bravely take responsibility, and dare to dedicate ourselves, we will surely gain even more trust, confidence, and warmth from our patients. And it is precisely this warmth that becomes the source of strength driving doctors to continually pursue progress and embrace greater responsibilities. As the COVID-19 pandemic enters a critical phase of routine prevention and control, it is still you—wearing your white coats and armor—who bravely step forward against the tide, unflinchingly throwing yourselves into the frontline tasks of preliminary screening and triage, epidemic prevention and control, nucleic acid testing, and vaccination. With passionate devotion, you express your deep love for the country and the people, and with practical actions, you demonstrate your sense of responsibility and commitment. During this crucial period of epidemic prevention and control and hospital development, I sincerely hope that our physicians will uphold the benevolent heart of healers, strengthen their sense of responsibility and action, and serve as guardians of public health, leaders in superb medical skills, practitioners of Healthy Dalian, devoted contributors of boundless love, and inheritors of medical excellence. May you continue to make new and greater contributions to the development and construction of our hospital. Finally, once again, I wish all physicians a joyful holiday, good health, smooth work, and everything going smoothly! Dean: Dai Jingjie August 19, 2021

China Doctors’ Day | A Greeting Letter from Dai Jingjie, President of Dalian Jinshitan Hospital, to All Physicians in the Hospital

Dear Physicians: In August, as fruits ripen and the air is filled with fragrance, we celebrate the inaugural “China Doctors’ Day.” On this special occasion, on behalf of the hospital’s Board of Directors, I would like to extend our warmest greetings and profound respect to all physicians in our hospital! On November 3, 2017, the State Council approved the application submitted by the National Health and Family Planning Commission to establish “China Doctors’ Day,” and issued a reply on November 20, officially designating August 19th each year as “China Doctors’ Day” starting from 2018. China Doctors’ Day is the fourth professional holiday established in our country following Teachers’ Day, Nurses’ Day, and Journalists’ Day. This clearly demonstrates the Party and the state’s deep care, concern, and support for medical personnel, highlights the professional honor and charm of those in white coats, and underscores the profound value of physicians’ lives. Being a physician is a noble profession. From the moment we first stepped into the halls of medicine, we chose a sacred path and solemnly pledged to “dedicate ourselves to safeguarding health and entrusting our lives to it.” From the instant we wrote our first prescription and first picked up the surgical knife, we realized that patients’ lives were placed in our hands—our responsibility was heavier than Mount Tai. We constantly shoulder the sacred duty of saving the dying and healing the sick, bearing the weighty mission of protecting the dignity of life and ensuring the health and well-being of the people. With concrete actions, we put Hippocrates’ oath into practice. We have chosen a sacred calling and taken on a great mission, persevering through thick and thin. At the forefront of saving lives and healing the wounded, we selflessly dedicate ourselves and work tirelessly, fully showcasing the admirable image of modern-day angels in white. Through our practical actions, we embody the noble spirit of health care: “revering life, saving the dying, willingly dedicating ourselves, and extending boundless love.” Staying true to our original aspirations and keeping our mission firmly in mind, we continue to strengthen medical ethics and professional conduct, constantly improving our professional competence. With genuine care, we convey the warmth of health guardians; with hard work, we write the loyalty of white-clad warriors; with skillful hands, we carry hope; and with sincere dedication, we secure the future. In our ordinary yet busy posts, we become the trusted caregivers who can be entrusted with patients’ lives, truly deserving of being loyal guardians of the physical and mental health and safety of the people. Let us strive to be good doctors—doctors with compassion and warmth. At this critical juncture in the hospital’s development, I sincerely hope that our physicians will uphold the benevolent heart of healers, strengthen their sense of responsibility and commitment, and serve as guardians of public health, leaders in medical excellence, practitioners of healthy Dalian, devoted contributors of boundless love, and inheritors of medical wisdom, making new and even greater contributions to the hospital’s development and construction. Finally, once again, I wish all physicians a happy holiday, good health, smooth work, and every blessing! 院长:Dai Jingjie August 18, 2018

Dalian Jinshitan Hospital 2019 Annual Work Summary Conference

The new year ushers in a fresh beginning, and all things are renewed. On the afternoon of January 16, Dalian Jinshitan Hospital held its 2019 annual work report meeting—themed “Integrating Knowledge with Action, Upholding Integrity while Pursuing Innovation”—in the hospital’s multi-functional hall. Leaders of Dalian Jinshitan Hospital and all staff members of the hospital attended the meeting. In his report, the hospital president pointed out: The year 2019 marked the 16th anniversary of the hospital’s founding, and yet the hospital continued to grow steadily and robustly despite facing numerous challenges. Looking back on the journey we’ve taken over the past year—the trials and tribulations, the tears and the sweat; the bitterness and the hard work; the joy and the lingering regrets—so many emotions and thoughts overflowed! In 2019, we continuously deepened our scientific, standardized, and normative management practices, and key medical indicators all showed varying degrees of improvement. The sense of satisfaction patients felt when seeking medical care kept getting better and better. The PET/CT project was officially put into clinical use, and newly added examination items continued to serve the frontline clinical staff. The hemodialysis center is being vigorously developed... All these achievements are the result of the dedication and hard work of every single staff member in the hospital, showcasing the hospital’s extraordinary spirit and strong development momentum. In 2020, we will actively explore new approaches for the hospital’s sustainable development, starting from enhancing patients’ sense of satisfaction with medical care, innovating medical service models, clarifying our positioning in the medical market, and vigorously promoting basic medical services. We will further strengthen our capacity for emergency and critical care treatment. Based on clearly defining our four major medical development focuses—common diseases, frequently occurring diseases, difficult-to-diagnose diseases, and specialized diseases—we will deliver humanistic care and high-quality services under the framework of modern medicine, thus promoting the hospital’s comprehensive and healthy development. New and old push each other forward, and day by day brings fresh progress. The year 2020 has arrived, and it is destined to be an extraordinary year. This year, our country will fully build a moderately prosperous society in all respects and achieve the first centenary goal. It is also a crucial year for the hospital to realize innovative development. Let us embrace this new year with our original aspirations unchanged, welcoming a world of renewal. We will comprehensively improve the quality and standards of medical services, continuously enhance patients’ sense of security and satisfaction in seeking medical care, boost employees’ professional pride and happiness in life, and with the mission of “achievements need not be mine, but I must contribute to their realization,” unite as one and keep working hard to create an even brighter future for the hospital! Finally, on behalf of the board of directors and all members of the hospital’s leadership team, the president extends early New Year greetings to everyone. We sincerely wish all staff members a happy Spring Festival, good health, smooth work, harmonious families, and fulfillment of all your wishes. Thank you all!

International Nurses Day—A Letter of Condolence from Dai Jingjie, Director of Dalian Jinshitan Hospital, to All the Nurses in the Hospital

Dear Nurse Sisters and Brothers, On the occasion of the 109th International Nurses Day, on behalf of the hospital’s leadership team and all the hospital staff, I would like to extend our warmest congratulations and heartfelt greetings to you, our dear nurse sisters and brothers. We also wish to express our profound respect and sincere gratitude to all the “white-coated angels” who work tirelessly day and night on the clinical frontlines, silently dedicating yourselves to the health and well-being of the people! Nursing is both ordinary and sacred; the nursing profession is glorious and great. Over the years, nursing staff across the hospital have consistently upheld the principle of wholeheartedly serving the health of the people, faithfully following Nightingale’s vow—to “wholeheartedly assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment, and always strive for the welfare of patients.” You have vigorously promoted the humanitarian spirit of saving lives and relieving suffering, working tirelessly around the clock at your nursing posts, racing against time, battling disease, and safeguarding life itself. On seemingly ordinary job sites, you have achieved extraordinary accomplishments. “Love is on the left, compassion on the right—walking alongside life, sowing seeds wherever we go, and seeing flowers bloom everywhere. Those who pass through branches and leaves will tread upon thorns without feeling pain; there may be tears, but they are not tears of sorrow.” This quote by the elder Bing Xin perfectly captures the essence of nursing work. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, it was you—clad in white armor—who bravely stepped forward, resolutely rushing into the frontline of preliminary screening, triage, and epidemic prevention and control. With passionate dedication, you expressed your deep love for your country and people, demonstrating responsibility and commitment through concrete actions—history will never forget! When patients were wracked with pain, it was you—with your original aspirations firmly in mind and your mission firmly on your shoulders—who remained steadfastly by their sides, offering gentle care and tender support, building an unbreakable steel wall to protect the health and safety of the people—the motherland will never forget! When families gathered together under the warm glow of lights, it was you—steadfastly holding your posts and making selfless sacrifices—who, regardless of day or night, cold or heat, perfectly embodied the spirit of “white-coated angels” through your actions. You are the “most lovable people” of the new era—the people will never forget! This year, the theme of China’s Nurses’ Day is “Pay Tribute to the Nursing Team, and Work Together to Overcome the Pandemic.” At present, the global COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, and our city has entered a stage of regular epidemic prevention and control. The pressure to prevent imported cases and curb domestic resurgence remains significant. We hope that you will continue to take Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as your guiding principle, always uphold the professional ethos of “respecting life, saving the dying and helping the wounded, being willing to dedicate oneself, and showing boundless love,” forge ahead with determination, and never slacken in your efforts. May you once again achieve remarkable feats in winning this battle against the epidemic! I sincerely wish all nursing staff at our hospital a happy Nurses’ Day, good health, smooth work, and happiness in your families! Dai Jingjie, President of Dalian Jinshitan Hospital May 12, 2020
